Congratulations! We are so excited to welcome you to your new Common home!

For important information about your home (i.e. Address, WiFi, Parking), please refer to your welcome email.

Move-In Day Basics (i.e. how to get in touch, home information):

Click on the support button found in your Connect by Common app. This is the most effective way to get in touch with our team about maintenance requests, billing questions, or any other general questions about your home.

Emergency Phone Line

For immediate assistance you can call 917.341.0590

Download the Connect by Common app

Through the app you can upload billing information, chat with your suitemates via the Community Feed, RSVP to events, and access Common Member Perks, and get in touch with us!

Finding Your Room

Rooms in our coliving suites often have dots on the top corner of the door that coincide with your room number (i.e. room three has three dots).

What’s Included in Your Room

Our furnished Co-living suites include a bed, nightstand, closet/dresser/wardrobe, and a lamp. Linens and pillows are not included.

Key Access

Most of our homes can be accessed by a digital key app (i.e. Latch, Kastle, Brivo). You will receive an email invitation for your access app prior to moving in. The morning of your move-in you’ll be granted key access. If you’re having trouble with access, please let our team know here, or call our emergency line 917.341.0590.

For homes with traditional keys, you will either be given instructions to access a lockbox that contains your physical key, or someone will be onsite to give you keys upon arrival.

Other Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Can I move in before my lease starts?

A: No, you can’t move into your home before the start of your lease.

Please note: if we are able to accommodate an earlier lease start date, you will be charged for the additional days at a prorated rate.

You are free to move in anytime after your lease start date, no notice necessary, unless scheduled move ins are required at your home. However, if you choose to move-in after your official lease start date, we are not able to change your lease occupancy dates or prorate any days.

Q: Do you require that moving companies have a Certificate of Insurance?

A: All of our traditional apartments (non coliving apartments) require a COI

Q: Can I have packages or mail sent to the home before my lease starts?

A: Out of respect for your future housemates, we do not allow members to have mail or packages sent to the home before the start of their lease.

Q: Will someone be on the ground to help me move in?

A: Unless specified otherwise, all move-ins at Common are self-service. Please note that for liability reasons, Common staff cannot help carry or move any of your personal belongings.

Q: How large is the bed in my room?

A: The beds in our single occupancy coliving rooms are full-sized, and the beds in our couples rooms are queen-sized.

Q: Are sheets/linens/pillows included?

A: No. The only thing provided on your mattress is a mattress cover.

Q: Can I hang things on the wall?

A: Yes, but please be cognizant of drilling holes. All holes must be dime-sized or smaller, and must be patched and repaired upon move out. Holes larger than a dime may be subject to a security deposit deduction upon your move out if not repaired.

Q: Can I bring my own mattress?

A: If you’re moving into a furnished co-living suite, a mattress is already provided. Our homes are not equipped with the storage space to accommodate both mattresses, so please do not plan on bringing your own.

Q: Will there be a place for me to park and unload my belongings while I’m moving in?

A: Our homes do not have designated loading/unloading zones, so we recommend checking the local parking laws and Google maps prior to moving in so you’re best prepared.
