Suitemate Dynamics

General Guidelines

• Keep quiet hours in mind (11pm-7am)

• Notify your suitemates if you are planning on having guests

• Don't borrow a suitemates' personal items without asking

• Smoking and drug paraphernalia are not permitted in your home

• The shared spaces in your home are for everyone -- be aware of your noise level, make sure to clean up after yourself, and keep in mind that you cannot reserve these spaces. Please do not leave your personal items in these spaces unless ok'd by your suitemates.

• Abide by our Visitor and Guest Policy

Refrigerator, Cabinet, and Closet Storage

Based on varying member preferences and habits, Common does not assign space to specific members in shared refrigerators, cabinets, closets, or other storage spaces. We've found that it makes most sense for each unique group of suitemates to discuss what will be most fair and effective for them. If you're experiencing issues with regards to this topic, we recommend a suite-wide meeting to discuss and align on expectations, as well as setting up a cadence for the suite to regularly clean out old items.

Roommate Dynamics

We expect members to be respectful of their suitemates and of the shared spaces within their home. Sometimes compromises may need to be made between suitemates in order to make your home as comfortable as it can be for everyone.

You may find that your way of living differs from that of your suitemates’, but we have found that diverse personalities and interests add richness to the community.

If you find that you are in a disagreement with another member in your home, we recommend having a person-to-person conversation to reach an agreeable resolution.

However, if a member in your home is behaving in such a way that violates the lease or membership agreement, please notify our team via the support button in your app. .
